Emma Boniwell is an arts and events professional

Emma is an experienced arts administrator, creative programme director, content creator
and event manager.

With more than 20 years experience working with writers, Emma has chaired events at Literature Festivals, conferences and bookshops interviewing writers about their work and writing.

Emma loves to help make communities of people, enjoying developing micro-relationships with the people she supports through her work at Writing West Midlands. People of all ages form the centre of her work.

Emma has run many creative projects; directing a large programme of creative writing workshops for young people in the West Midlands, leading the UK contribution to a Creative Europe project designed to engage young people with reading and writing, programming and delivering a careers-focussed series of events for teenagers to showcase potential careers opportunities in the publishing and library sectors.

Emma discovered her visually creative side during lockdown and found a flair for creating videos to inspire young people to write. Emma also edits the Spark Young Writers website and contracts many professional writers to run workshops for young people.

Emma is available for freelance work in these areas, and also as an event manager and organiser, having organised hundreds of literature events in venues small and large.
