Emma is experienced in all elements of events; programming, liaising with speakers, box office systems, liaising with participants/audience, production, managing a budget, liaising with venue over space requirements and technical requirements, introducing speakers, chairing events, interviewing speakers on stage, working front of house, being the contact point for audience and speakers alike.

Emma was the production designer and manager for Birmingham Literature Festival 2023, conceiving the look of both stages used during the event, and changing the set for each event over the course of 30+ events.
Emma has programmed awards ceremonies, conferences, creative writing workshops, literature festival events, summer schools, international training events, as well as speaking at national and international conferences.
She has interviewed authors on behalf of Waterstones, The Birmingham Rep, Birmingham Literature Festival and Writing West Midlands.
